Bares and Bears, oh my

Bare can be an adjective meaning uncovered or exposed, or a verb meaning to uncover or to expose.  When you are not wearing shoes, you have bare feet.

Bear is a more versatile word.  It can be a verb meaning "to endure."  When it snows, I cannot bear to go outside in bare feet.

You can bear left or bear right, meaning to change your direction slightly.  Bear can also mean "to carry" (beware of Greeks who bear gifts).

Bear also refers to a large wild animal.
