Incidence and Incident

An incident is an event or occurrence.

There was a minor traffic accident.  A traffic cop wrote down the details of the incident.

"Incidence" describes the rate or frequency of an occurrence.

The neighbourhood has a high incidence of traffic accidents, but a low incidence of crime.

Be careful not to use "incidence" when you mean "incident."
